The Apostle's Creed
We believe in God, the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.
And in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Beautiful Savior's Core Beliefs
God - we believe in the triune god
The One true God is revealed to us in the Holy Scriptures as the Father who is our Creator, the Son who is our Redeemer, and the Holy Spirit who is our Sanctifier (Matthew 3:16-17).
Bible - We Believe that the Bible is the Living Word of God
The Holy Scriptures are divinely inspired by God and without error (2Timothy 3:16).
Sin - We Believe that sin separates us from God
Sin is our rebellion against God and is what we do in thought, word, and deed. We are born sinful and are naturally self-centered in need of continual forgiveness (Isaiah 59:2).
Grace - We Believe that it is only by God's Grace that a person is saved from condemnation
By no power or decision of our own, God calls each of us by grace to be in a relationship with Him to live an eternal life in Heaven through the work and sacrifice of Jesus Christ (Ephesians 1:7).
Faith - We Believe that Faith is a gift from God that enables us to accept the truth of the Bible
By faith, we rely on Him with firm confidence for our needs in life here and now, and our salvation through Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8).
Good Works - We Believe that actions of Love and Mercy are a witness of God's love within us
We do this, not to win God's approval or salvation, but because we are thankful for the gift of eternal life, which we have already received as a free gift in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:10).
Holy Baptism - We Believe that in the Water and Word we are washed clean of our sin
The sacrament of Holy Baptism gives to us the blessings of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit; namely the blessings of faith, forgiveness, and eternal life. Infants, children, and adults are baptized in the name of the Triune God where God adopts us as His own children (Acts 2:38).
Holy Communion - We believe that Jesus is truly present "in, with, & under" the bread and wine
We participate in this sacrament to receive forgiveness of our sins, a strengthening of our faith, and an in-common fellowship with all those who partake of this holy meal together (Luke 22:19-20).
Prayer - We Believe we have the privilege of praying directly to God in Jesus christ
As part of a growing and continuing relationship with Him, prayer is our opportunity to thank and praise God, to seek His help in times of trouble and need, and to discover His way and will for our lives (1 John 5:14).
The Church - We Believe that the church is all believers in the one true Christian Faith
The church is not the physical structure where we meet or a social organization to which we belong; rather, the church consists of a community of all people who believe in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior (1 Corinthians 12:12).
Christ's Return - We believe that Jesus Christ is coming back to earth at a time known only to God
He is coming to judge the living and the dead and to fulfill His promise to give all beleivers eternal life (1 Corinthians 15:51-52).
Gender - We Believe that our chief identity is given to us in our Holy Baptism
We are called to respect our identity as male or female in the body that God has given to us (Genesis 1:27).
Marriage - We Believe that Marriage is the uniting of one man and one woman
It is an exclusive union between male and female till death parts them. And that in that union the male is charged to love and cherish and care for his wife as Christ loves and cherishes His church, even unto death. And the female is called to love and obey her husband as God’s people are called to love and obey our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (Genesis 1:27-28).
Sexuality - We Believe that sex within the relationship of marriage is a wonderful gift of God
Yet the iniquities and immorality of sexuality such as adultery, fornication, homosexual behavior, bisexual conduct, bestiality, incest, violence, and the use of pornography have distorted the gift of sex as God had originally meant it to be (Genesis 1:27-28).
Forgiveness - We believe that God offers Redemption and Restoration to all who confess their sin
When a person seeks God’s mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ, every person is afforded compassion, love, kindness, respect, and dignity. Hateful and harassing behavior or attitudes directed toward any individual are to be repudiated and are not in accord with Scripture nor the core beliefs of Beautiful Savior (Psalm 32:5).
